SPEAKING AND SCHOOL PRESENTATIONS

Bestselling author Jennifer Von Scurlock AKA Lady Jenniviere is available for speaking engagements with civic organizations as well as school presentations.

STUDENT DIRECTED STORY DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP

During a collaborative hands on session, students learn the basic elements of fiction writing. J. Von Scurlock guides the class through the process of writing a story's first draft.

WHAT YOUR STUDENTS LEARN:

  •   Story idea generation
  •   Character development
  •   Story setting
  •   Plot Conflict
  •   Conflict resolution
  •   Story outlining as a tool against Writer's Block
  •   First draft is a launch pad for better writing in subsequent drafts

Students outline the story's characters, setting, develop plot conflict and find a resolution to the conflict and end the story. Together, Lady Jenniviere and the students then write a short story based on these elements. When finished, the students title their short story and have the first draft of a complete narrative to share with others. This is a fun and exciting way to learn the steps of writing while sharing the momentum of creativity with one another and applying hands on tactics to problem solving.
